Common Questions

Large Scale Farming and Agriculture Business Consulting - Chief Technology Officer

We had a fantastic experience with Danielle Durand @ Velocity Factor, who expertly customized our CRM. Danielle's key strength is her process-oriented mindset; she doesn't just implement features, she analyzes your workflow to ensure the system collects the right data and, more importantly, makes it easy to act on. Thanks to her in-depth training, our team is now fully equipped to leverage the system and even build upon it ourselves as the business evolves.

Commercial Services Agency in the Construction and Design Industry - Owner

Working with Danielle was a turning point for us. She quickly grasped the complexity of our business and reshaped our CRM to reflect the real way we operate — not an idealized version. She brought clarity where there was none, helped us document processes, align workflows, and build practices we had never formalized. Danielle's ability to guide the team through change — with patience, context, and just the right amount of push — made what could have been overwhelming feel doable. We now have data we can trust, stronger collaboration across the team, and a CRM that helps us be proactive, strategic, and consistent. It’s been a foundational shift that’s already paying off.

She tailored the CRM to fit our unique needs, which naturally increased our teams efficiencies almost immediately. What is this going to cost me?

Engagements start at $8,500 and scale from there. I offer project-based and retainer engagement. Typically clients start with a defined scope, and once we've established trust and traction, we move to a retainer for 3, 6, or 12-month terms. The right structure depends on where you are and what you need. We'll figure that out together.

How long of a commitment do you require?

Engagements are structured as fixed-term projects, dated retainers, or open-ended monthly arrangements. Any of them can be wound down with 30 days notice. No penalties, no awkward conversations. I'd rather earn your continued engagement than contractually secure it.

Are your services offered virtually or in person?

Both. Virtual is the default. Where in-person adds meaningful value in workshops, team sessions, critical inflection points, we make that call together. Travel expenses are pre-approved and billed separately.

What is your approach to collaborating with our existing team?

I start with structured 1:1s with each member of the team, built around what they value, where they feel strong, and where they feel stuck. That process earns the trust to ask harder questions later and surfaces gaps that documentation never captures. It is the fastest path to understanding what is actually happening versus what leadership believes is happening.

How do you handle confidentiality and protect our sensitive business information?

An NDA is standard practice for any engagement. I'll work with yours or provide one. Either way, it's in place before we begin.

Can you assist with training our team on new strategies and best practices?

Yes, and it's often where the most durable value comes from. The goal isn't dependency on me. It's capability that outlasts the engagement.

What is your availability and responsiveness to address our concerns or questions?

Clear and timely communication is essential. Upon engagement, I will establish the preferred channels of communication and ensure that any requests or updates are communicated in writing to authorized team members. I commit to acknowledging and responding to your inquiries within 24 hours of receipt, keeping you informed about the progress of our work and addressing any questions or concerns you may have.

What is your process for getting up to speed on a new industry?

As Marcel Proust once shared: "Discovery consists not in seeking new lands but in seeing with new eyes."

The foundation of any operating model is the people inside it. I prioritize 1:1s with each member of the team, built around questions that surface what each person values, what they are reaching for, where they feel strong, and where they feel stuck.  Done well, this process earns me the trust to ask harder questions later and is one of the richest sources of domain knowledge available.

In whatever order access allows, I work through:

  • Product: Release notes, current specs, and roadmap.
  • Marketing: Investor deck, recent market research, customer journey maps, and case studies.
  • Customer: 5 longest-tenured, 5 highest-revenue, 5 highest-usage, 5 recently churned.
  • Sales motion: 3 or 4 recorded or live demos with each rep.
  • Onboarding: 3 or 4 recorded or live sessions with each rep.
  • Support: 3 or 4 recorded or live support calls.

Once I have sufficient context across all of the above, I look at the comp set to understand what alternatives exist, what they do and do not provide, and where differentiation is real versus assumed.

How do we measure success?

If it can't be measured, it's not worth doing. Before we start, we align on the KPIs that matter for your stage and goals. Common ones include time-to-value, close rate, days to close, CAC, churn, NPS, expansion revenue, and avoidable escalations — but the right set is specific to you, not pulled from a template.

How often do we receive progress updates or reports on the work being done?

I provide regular progress updates and reports tailored to your preferred frequency. This ensures transparency and keeps you informed about the work being done, milestones achieved, and key insights gained.

What happens if we are not satisfied with the results or progress?

We define success before we start, so there's no ambiguity about what we're working toward. If something isn't landing, we address it directly. No-penalty cancellation is built into every agreement — not because I expect to need it, but because accountability should run in both directions.
